The Six Principles

The NZPF ‘Six Principles’ were originally established in 2023.

These help guide the decision making of the NZPF Executive.

These ‘Six Principles’ were reviewed in 2025 to reflect the evolving needs of the profession, the aspirations of our communities, and the challenges we face collectively as educational leaders.

Our revised principles set a clear direction for NZPF’s advocacy and leadership moving forward – focused on equity, integrity, and the wellbeing of our tamariki and rangatahi. The principles give NZPF clear direction on how to advance our advocacy work, ensuring we represent your voice with confidence.

A full synopsis of the updates to these principles, made at the 2025 NZPF Moot, can be viewed here.
